A palace on the Moon
Tianyao Yang, taken from Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, China
The Chinese space station Tiangong (or “heavenly palace”) crosses the disk of the Moon during the lunar eclipse of Sept. 7/8. The transit was captured in 22 frames over 0.72 second just before 12:58 a.m. Chinese standard time and was blended with a high dynamic range (HDR) capture of the Moon. The photographer used a Sony a1 mirrorless camera and a 600mm lens with a 2x teleconverter, capturing each transit frame with a 1/2000-second exposure at f/8 and ISO 1600.
