Thanks to a G4-level geomagnetic storm, northern lights were visible in the southern United States on the night of Jan. 19/20. This image was taken around 4:30 a.m. MST, as activity at the site peaked. The photographer used an astromodified Canon mirrorless camera to take a 10-second exposure at f/4 and ISO 12800.
