Does the debris left behind by comets pose a hazard to the International Space Station?

Comet and asteroid debris pose a potential hazard to the International Space Station (ISS). Because of its size, the ISS is more likely to be hit by debris than are smaller spacecraft. Small particles frequently strike space shuttles and sometimes damage shuttle window panels.
