Exploring the Sails

Circular star trails fill the upper three-fourths of the image, concentrating around Polaris, the North Star, just above the center of the image. Directly beneath Polaris is the silhouette of a saguaro cactus, standing amid a desert landscape.

Green ribbons of aurorae arc across the upper two-third of the image, looking like a single wing of an angel (or perhaps the flow of the lifestream from a certain Japanese RPG). Below is a fjord, with sea flanked by snow-covered mountain slopes. The auroral light and light from small villages reflects off the snow.
