In the May issue of Astronomy, amateur astronomer Steve Coe did a roundup consisting of mostly out-of-the-way galaxies in Ursa Major. I thought it would be fun to observe the galaxies (minus the well-known Messier objects) he talks about through a really large telescope. As luck would have it, I was visiting the astronomical and equestrian community Rancho Hidalgo in Animas, New Mexico at the time Ursa Major was high in the evening sky.
