This scenic campsite, in the midst of the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York, becomes even more picturesque at night, offering one of the darkest spots in the northeastern United States. It has long been home to some of the author’s most fond skygazing memories.

One of the advantages of writing a monthly column in Astronomy magazine is that I can promote a particular event I think has value to our readers, especially those just beginning their astronomical voyages.
