The Milky Way and its dense star fields and dust lanes arch over bioluminescent surf off Frank Island in British Columbia. The image combines two 30-second sky exposures at ISO 1600 and a 1-second ISO 16000 foreground frame to capture the glow of microorganisms in the breaking surf, shot on a Sony a7 III mirrorless camera and an 85mm f/1.4 lens.
