The total lunar eclipse of Sept. 7 appears deep red in this high dynamic range (HDR) image. The imager used a 6-inch Dobsonian and Sony a7C II mirrorless camera to take a stack of 100 frames, plus an overexposed frame to bring out the details in Earth’s shadow.
