A strong geomagnetic storm on Sunday, Nov. 5, created displays of aurora as far south as Arizona, as the red auroral arch on the horizon of this image demonstrates. The photographer used a modified Hutech/Canon DSLR for enhanced red sensitivity, an 8mm fish eye lens, and 5 minutes of exposure.
