A pond in Auriga

Mark Germani from Vancouver, Canada

The emission nebula IC 410 is home to the embedded open cluster NGC 1893 as well as the famous Tadpole features, visible just left of center. The region is a stellar nursery where newborn stars are sculpting streams of glowing gas. The imager used a 3.6-inch f/5.6 refractor; a one-shot color camera; and L, Hα/OIII, and SII/OIII filters with exposures of 1, 8¼, and 9 hours, respectively.
