About the Author

Creator of a magazine for astronomy enthusiasts when he was 15 years old, Dave has been on the Astronomy staff for 42 years and its chief editor for half that time. He is an enthusiastic observer and writer who has authored 26 books on science and history, is a member of the board of directors of the Starmus Festival and of Lowell Observatory, and is happy to be under the dark skies of Tucson, Arizona.
