This shot was captured Jan. 17, 2009, through a 3-inch Borg astrograph refractor with a Canon 20Da camera at ISO 400 (four stacked 18-minute exposures). By opting for long exposures, the photographer was able to tease out the faint details of the reflection nebulosity around these sister stars.
