Geminid meteors streak over the Hongyuan grasslands on Dec. 14 in this self-portrait, taken with a Nikon mirrorless camera and 16mm f/1.8 lens. The night sky and foreground were captured in 60-second and 30-second exposures, respectively, at ISO 2000; meteors were captured in 8- to 10-second exposures at ISO 12800. The photographer reports playing the song “The Brightest Star in the Night Sky” as the foreground shot was taken.
