WR stars shed their outer layers in a kind of slow-motion explosion. QR Sagittae, also known as WR 124, seems to be disintegrating in this Hubble Space Telescope view — an impression that isn't far from the truth. The star is shedding its outermost layers quickly to form the surrounding nebula, cataloged as M1-67. Both are located 15,000 light-years from Earth.
