Astronomers discovered Y-155 in the constellation Cetus the Whale with the National Optical Astronomy Observatory's (NOAO) 4-meter Blanco telescope (largest dome pictured) at Cerro Tololo in Chile in November 2007 during the last weeks of the 6-year ESSENCE project.
