Jets can be seen streaming out of the nucleus, or main body, of Comet 103P/Hartley in this image from NASA's EPOXI mission. The nucleus is approximately 1.2 miles (2 kilometers) long and 0.25 mile (0.4 km) across at the narrow "neck."
