Binary stars, like the ones depicted in this artist's drawing, will lose their orbital energy by generating gravity waves, according to Einstein's theory of General Relativity. The NASA/ESA/LISA satellites are designed to detect these waves. Planetary scientists will be able to use this data to gather useful information about near-Earth asteroids.
