From Earth's perspective, Uranus is turning to its side. These views show the planet's changing aspect between 2000 (left) and 2004 (right). As Uranus presents a more edge-on view of its ring system, the rings themselves have become brighter and more distinct. Improving image quality during the period shown reflects improvement in the Keck II Telescope's adaptive optics system.
