This image is a composite of multiwavelength images of the active galaxy M82 from the three Great Observatories: the Hubble Space Telescope, Chandra X-ray Observatory, and Spitzer Space Telescope. VERITAS has found new evidence for cosmic rays in the Cigar Galaxy (M82), which is located 12 million light-years from Earth in the direction of the constellation Ursa Major.
