This discovery image of the sky shows brown dwarf J0034 with more distant stars around it. The image was made from UKIRT data by using UKIDSS wavebands Y, J, and H images as red, green, and blue to make a false-color image. The image was made as part of the UKIRT Infrared Deep Sky Survey (UKIDSS) Large Area Survey (LAS) on Mauna Kea in Hawaii.
