This graph represents the period-luminosity relationship in visible light, as deduced from observations of Cepheid variable stars. The green line is the fitted relation between period and luminosity. The agreement between the model and the measurements is excellent, in particular for the high-precision measurements of Delta Cephei and L Carinae.
