Lorenzo Busilacchi, taken from Margine Rosso, Quartu, Sardinia, Italy

Whether called by its designation Arp 273 or its nickname, the Rose, this interacting pair of galaxies roughly 300 million light-years away in Andromeda makes for a sweet photographic target. This image was taken with an 11-inch scope and 8.4 hours of exposure with a multi-bandpass filter.
