Description
Coleman Observatory is operated by the Arkansas Oklahoma Astronomical Society in Van Buren, AR. We schedule AT LEAST 2 weekends each month for public nights, and we also cater to reservations upon request. Our primary instrument is a Celestron CGE1400XLT telescope on a permanent pier, and it is operated by a Dell Dimension 3000 computer. We are currently trying our hand at CCD imaging and using any of our 4 Deep Sky or Planetary/Lunar imaging cameras. We work with local universities such as UA Fort Smith and John Brown University to help provide a station to use for their astronomy courses. Other area universities are welcome to request the same.
