Description
The Sedona Star Festival is an annual 3 day event from June 5-7, 2013 promoting star gazing throughout the communities of Sedona and the Village of Oak Creek. The event is free to the public. Over 20 astronomers have already committed to set up telescopes at our Opening Night Festival on June 5. In addition those same astronomers will set up at a variety of locations in and around Sedona on June 6 from 8 - midnight. There will be 2 dark site observing locations dedicated to avid amateur and professional astronomers and for astrophotography demonstrations and workshops.. A public lecture series is planned for June 6 during the day.

There is one substantial and significant difference between the Sedona Star Festival and most other successful star parties around the country. It makes us unique and makes participation for visitors simple.

The Sedona Star Festival is dedicated to bringing the astronomers and telescopes to our Sedona visitors and residents by locating in the highest pedestrian traffic areas in and around the community. We already have beautiful dark skies in most areas of Sedona.

Solar telescopes for daytime viewing in several locations on June 6 during the day. We will be able to show the Sun and Saturn during the day.
