Conferences/Conventions, Lectures, Star Parties
Bays Mountain Park & Planetarium
853 Bays Mountain Park Road
Kingsport, Appalachians, TN 37660 United States
all day
Not set, but in the $75 range.
StarFest is the Bays Mountain Astronomy Club’s annual astronomical convention held each October. Situated in the heart of the Appalachians, it is three days and two nights of astronomical heaven. During the day, our delegates enjoy many keynote speakers, planetarium programs, activities, solar viewing, and the splendor of autumnal colors. The night brings more speakers, activities, the use of a fleet of large telescopes, and crisp, cool air. Attendance can only be attained by pre-registration and includes all activities, five scrumptious meals, free access to the Park’s public programming, the opportunity to sleep on Park grounds at no additional cost, and a unique, commemorative T-shirt. All of this for one, low cost. Registration forms are usually released in August and space is limited.
None
Take exit 3 off of I-26, turn west, go down Reservoir Road for about three miles. Turn right onto Bays Mountain Park Road. After about 300", enter left gated entrance.
