Sketching Hercules' two clusters

Capturing what you observe on paper is a great way to compare M13 and M92.

In my August 2011 column, I wrote about a tale of two star clusters in Hercules, the famed Hercules Cluster (M13) and the equally impressive but often-overlooked globular M92. The best way to compare the two is to view them on the same night with identical optics, and it’s great if you can record your findings while appreciating each object’s magnificence.
