Astronomy magazine hiring managing editor

Astronomy magazine, the world’s leading publication for astronomy enthusiasts, is seeking a managing editor. The successful candidate will partner with the editor to manage a professional, dedicated, six-member editorial staff and report to the editor of the magazine. Preferred candidates will have a B.A. in English, journalism, or a related field, a minimum of five years of magazine or newspaper experience, and editorial supervisory experience. Required skills will include word processing and page layout and an eye for photo selection. Familiarity with Web and digital content and workflow is required. Science knowledge and familiarity with the hobby of astronomy is a plus.
