On August 6, 2012, NASA’s latest rover, Curiosity, will touch down on Mars in search of past and present life on the Red Planet. The August 2012 issue of Astronomy magazine celebrates the event by previewing the cutting-edge mission as well as reflecting on the success of the twin martian rovers, Spirit and Opportunity, and looking ahead at a future manned mission to Mars.
