Jupiter shines big and bright
October 2010: Jupiter shines brightly nearly all night. With a large disk, an active atmosphere, and four bright moons, giant Jupiter provides endless fascination for those who view it through a backyard telescope.

 One dark belt was all Jupiter could muster early this year. Scientists don't know how long the planet's second dark belt will remain missing.
