    NGC 2024 the Flame Nebula

    This is a small portion from a larger image I've been working on. Seeing and transparency were not at their best which was play havoc on my guiding and processing.

    Capture Info:

    Date: 2008-10-05

    Celestron C6R GT (ASGT CG5 GoTo Mount)
    Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT/350D
    ISO 800
    Prime Focus on Celestron C80ED refractor
    96 light frames = 121 minutes total exposure
    55 darks, 45 flats, 40 bias/offsets.

    Guide Camera: Philips SPC900NC web-cam
    Guide Scope: Celestron C6R 
    Guiding Software: PHD

    Stacking software:  DSS

    Not bad Tim. Did the upload of the image darken it? I've seen you post brighter flames than that in the past. Good job though!

    Thank you,  I appreciate the comments. 

    I wish that had turned out a with a little more detail than it did, But what can you expect with a small telescope with an amateur taking the pictures. Fortunately I've had some nice weather allowing me to capture some image data,  Now I just need to work on my post processing skill.
