Need someOpinions/Reviews: NAS: Field Guide to the Night Sky.

As the subject says, I saw it in the store the other day and I was wondering if it might be worth picking up or is it worthless? Or has anyone else used it.

It's pretty good. I find it helpful to keep a copy in my eyepiece case.

I find it very handy at public outreach events. Its star charts are very small, and the print is hard for me to read (I'm 61), so YMMV. But it's filled with great info and is a comprehensive introduction to the night sky.

I like it a lot. It is small in size, but packs a lot of information. I take it outside when observing and keep it on my lap. I also use it to plan my viewing session, along with astronomy magazine. It is really nice to have all that information without having to lug a giant book around. Save those big books for your coffee table.

So I say, YES GET THIS!
