NGC 604

NGC 604 inside the Triangulum Galaxy (M33) is one of the largest H II regions in the Local Group of galaxies. It's approximately 3 million light-years away. (22-inch William Kuhn Telescope (modified Cassegrain) of the Orange County Astronomers at f/8, SBIG ST-8XME CCD camera, Hydrogen-alpha/LRGB image with exposures of 110, 60, 10, 10, and 10 minutes, respectively) Pat Knoll took this image November 21, 2009, from Anza, California.
