Every New Moon, heartbeats quicken as amateur astronomers head out into the night and converge on select, dark locations where others of their kind often gather. It's the monthly ritual of observers disembarking for their favorite observing sites. We quizzed sky fans around the country about their most treasured places for stargazing.
