Hubble images take you to the heart of the Vela Supernova Remnant.

| Hubble imaging team members combined multiple images to create this imaginary journey to the Pencil Nebula. The zoom continues all the way to a small region of the Pencil Nebula's wispy filamentary structures. The nebula's shape suggests it is part of the supernova shock wave that recently encountered a region of dense gas. |
