Binocular Sacrilege! I think I understand what the presenter was trying to get at with people being disappointed in the view, but certain objects like the Pleiades are just fabulous in good binoculars. Also binoculars have the advantage of being very quick to set up and use compared to a telescope. The ability to use them without having to set up is a great advantage in places that have cold temperatures.
