Leo I - Leo I, sometimes called the Regulus Dwarf, is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy located approximately 820,000 light-years away in the constellation Leo the Lion. Having the bright star Regulus (Alpha Leonis) so close makes this object tough to see and image. Leo I is a member of the Local Group and astronomers consider it a satellite galaxy of our Milky Way.
